Negotia, the largest member of YS, Norway’s third biggest union confederation, has jointly launched a shared reflection with Telenor, the country’s largest telecommunications company, on AI and ethical digitalization at work. This comes as part of Norway’s national strategy for artificial intelligence that the government announced on 08 February 2019. The initiative will start on 30 May by way of a joint unions and businesses signature to the ‘Declaration on responsible AI use at work.’
YS vice-president and president of Negotia, Monica A. Paulsen kindly agreed to talk to Planet Labor on this collaboration with Telenor. “In the autumn of 2018 during an exchange with Telenor on the topic of AI for the daily publication Aftenposten, we suggested to the telecommunications company that we join forces and drive the debate further.” Telenor Group, already a member of the EU Commission’s AI expert group and full supporter of The Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy Artificial Intelligen
