Norway: wage agreement on early retirement in the private sector

The bargainers of the Norwegian confederation of trade unions (LO) and of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises (NHO) signed an agreement on early retirement and wage increases. LO's member will vote on this text on April 22. (Ref. 080273)

Hourly pay will increase of 2 crowns (€0.25) on from April 1, 2008. a special increase of 3 crowns (€0.37) an hour is planned for all wages defined by sectoral wage agreements which are under 90% of the average pay of industrial workers (334.80 crowns, that is €41.945 an hour). This measure will mostly concern women, according to LO, which calculated the general average increase around +5.6%.
