Renault Spain proposes negotiation for the shedding of 1300 jobs

Renegotiation of the company agreement. Renault wants to reach rapidly an agreement with the unions with, if possible, implementation end December stressing that “the negotiation is set in the framework of a perspective for the viability of the overall Renault industrial installations in Spain”. Management is hoping for an agreement linking the talks on the cutback of jobs with the renegotiation of the company agreement which expires on January 31, 2007. A meeting on this purpose is expected on November 20.
