In October 2007, Schaeffler Group – 66.000 employees throughout the world – finally reached an agreement with its EU staff representatives to create a European works council. The new body will have 18 members from 12 countries and will start working in June 2008. (Ref. 080281)
The management of the Schaeffler Group, a
“family” multinational company which provides clutches, rolling bearings or
even impellers to the automobile and aviation industries, signed, on October 9,
2007, an agreement for the creation of an EWC with the special negotiating body
composed of staff representatives from 10 EU countries. National
representatives should be elected by the spring of 2008. The opening session
