Spain: CC.OO proposes to control the entry of labour immigrants by a system of annual quotas according to market demands

During the presentation of a working paper entitled "Immigration and labour market, proposal for the regulation of migratory flows", the secretary-general of the trade union CC.OO, Maria Fidalgo, informed that the hosting capacities of Spain were not unlimited and required a "global policy" as regards immigration in order to avoid the general degradation of working conditions in the country. The trade union defends a real policy as regards immigration, with economic and human means and techniques to coordinate the monitoring of borders and the visas, social integration, the fight against moonlighting and the application of penal sanctions against those employers which exploit clandestine foreigners.
