In line with recommendations from the agreement on employment and collective bargaining that was concluded with the social partners in June 2018, the temporary employment sector is the first to announce a schedule for raising low pay. Employers and unions also commit to promoting social dialogue and defending dignified working conditions by working together to tackle social dumping.
On 19 October, the CCOO and UGT unions along with Asempleo, the temporary employment sector employers’ body, signed the sixth collective agreement for the sector, which frames working conditions for 750,000 workers across Spain. One of the agreement’s key points is the raising of low pay to the level of €14,000 per annum. The new collective agreement expires on 31 December 2020 but can be extended during the period of a subsequent agreement negotiation.
