The Parliament definitely approved, on November 22, the reform on pensions and social security, after approving most of amendments introduced when the text went to Senate. It lengthens minimum contributions, extends the reversion pension to cohabitants and establishes an bonus in the retirement system. (Ref. 070972)
The new law, which will come into effect in January 2008, was negotiated with social partners in 2006 (see our article n° 06724).
- It lengthens minimum contributions to be entitled to get full pension: 5.475 days as opposed to 4.700 until now. This brings actual contribution period from 12.5 to 15 years.
