The agreement marks an official end to the wage freeze that hit the sector at the start of the economic crisis. In it has been penned an overall rise in wages of 1% for 2015 and 1.5% for 2016 as well as a clause guaranteeing protection from any erosion in purchasing power. Rises for 2017 will be negotiated at the start of that period. This agreement should pave the way for the rapid signing, by the main employers bodies and unions, of the collective bargaining and employment framework agreement that will regulate industrial relations for the period 2015 – 2017.
On May 11, both the UGT and CCOO unions together with the CEOE and Cepyme employers bodies came to an agreement in principle on a new Agreement on Employment and Collective Bargaining 2015-2017.
