On 31 March, an agreement was reached in extremis by the five unions that form part of the Facken Inom Industri grouping and the employer groups in the industry sector. Unusually the agreement will last three years and provides for a 6.5% pay rise, meaning the industry sector can be a reference point for negotiations set to take place in other sectors.
Tough negotiations. The deal was struck in a race against the clock, with the preceding agreement set to expire that very evening, raising fears of potential strike action.
