Sweden: trade employers’ organization signed new wage agreement with supervisory staff representatives but is facing a call for strike for employees

Satisfactory agreements for managers and graduates.  The new wage agreement signed between Svensk Handel and the Unionen and Akademikerförbunden union organizations applies to executives, store managers and college graduates (whether they work in purchasing, sales, HR or finance) in the trade industry, i.e. 80,000 people.  It will be in force between May 1, 2012 and April 30, 2013 and provides for a 2.6 percent wage increase with a minimum increase of SEK 310 (€35) on May 1, 2012.  However, the 0.2 percent from the payroll, which the 2010 agreement dedicated to the development of skills, will be dedicated to increasing wages, for managers and graduates alike.
