At the end of March 2019 a multitude of women’s’ networks launched a call to strike action: ‘Frauen Streik’ setting the symbolic date of 14 June as the day for the strike. The movement comprising work stoppages, demonstrations, rallies and several other actions expects 1 million participants to protest gender inequality within the world of work. However the women’s demands don’t just stop at gender inequality. In this article Planet Labor reviews protest calls that are coming from the very committed trade unions as well as examining the whole situation of political strike action in a country that prohibits the same.
