The Court of Justice seldom had the occasion to interpret the directive on fixed-term contracts. Giving its opinion on a case involving Greek law, the judges of Luxembourg have just set limits to the freedom of appreciation Member States had when it comes to defining the conditions under which the use of successive fixed-term contracts can be allowed.
