The management of the Thomas Cook Company (33.000 employees) and the special negotiating body created to negotiate for a European works council came to an agreement on March 6. The negotiation followed the merger, in June 2007, between Thomas Cook AG and My Travel Group Plc. (Ref. 080270)
The agreement is the result of the merger between the German group Thomas Cook AG and the British group My Travel Group Ppc in June 2007, who both had a EWC. They agreed to merge into a single council. Waiting for the renewal of the council in 2010, to appoint or elect members in the countries, the management and the council will bargain for the modalities of allocation in every country.
