On 18 April, the UK government published its response to labour law reform proposals put forward by two parliamentary committees. While Theresa May and her team recognise that things need to change on sensitive issues such as the gig economy, zero-hour contracts and protection for temporary workers, the prime minister plans to bide her time and conduct consultations before taking action. The response is much to the chagrin of certain MPs, who are demanding an immediate reaction.
