Work starts on a binding treaty for multinational company responsibility with respect to human rights violations

The first session of the “intergovernmental working group on transnational corporations and other business enterprises with respect to human rights,” guided by the UNO Human Rights Council came to a close on Friday 10 July after four days of meetings. The group was tasked with deliberating the issue of a binding treaty on multinational corporations’ responsibility for violations of human rights.
