In May 2017, Philippe Brenninkmeijer resigned as C.E.O. of C&A Europe to join the Brenninkmeijer family’s investment vehicle called “Cofra”.He is succeeded as C.E.O. by Alain Caparros, (aged 60) from August 1st. This is a major change for C&A (2,000 stores), whose sales have decreased to €2,9 billion last year. Senior executive roles at C&A are rare outside the founding Brenninkmeijer family.
