Amazon is in discussions to buy a stake in Souq. com, the region’s biggest e-commerce site. In December, Al Tayer Group, which runs Bloomingdale’s, Crate & Barrel, Coach and Balenciaga licences, also launched a luxury website called “Ounass”, selling fashion, cosmetics, jewellery and home merchandise in the U.A.E., Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
