Beyond e-commerce, deferred or split payments are gaining ground in stores. Credit specialist Cofidis (CM-CIC banking group) announced the launch of a “Pay Later” payment option both online and offline available from June 2022 in France and for the next few months in Spain and Belgium.

Consumers can pay for products on a deferred basis, 30 days after purchase or delivery (face value per item between €60 and €1,000). Cofidis did not discuss which stores can have this service, but it should...
