On May 5, Danish retailer Salling (2024 turnover: €9.7 billion, up by 2.7% year-on-year, net margin ratio at 2.4% of sales) received shareholders’ approval to acquire the Baltic region’s 2nd-largest food retailer, Rimi Baltic (sales of €13.8 billion, up by 6.5%), from Swedish company ICA Gruppen.
