Today, in the U.S.A., food retail represents also the biggest challenge and opportunity for e-commerce. According to a 2019 study from Coresight Research, 37% of U.S. consumers bought groceries online in the past year, a rise of 23% from 2018. This shows that 35 million more customers have traded with digital sales from 2018. However, only 12% of consumers report using delivery to buy “a lot” of their groceries online, while nearly 75% use online channels to purchase a smaller amount.
