In 2017, the Ibn Battuta Mall (owned by Nakheel) recorded 21 million visitors, driven by an influx of tourists, new residential developments in surrounding areas and an enhanced collection of tenants. Nakheel said that 73% of visitors were U.A.E. residents, including Emiratis, Arabs, Asians and Western expats, and 17% were tourists.
