According to the Mollie 2026 Payment Report study published in March, e-wallets accounted for 24% of online payments in 2025 in Europe, and SEPA Instant transfers significantly accelerated cash flow cycles. Domestic schemes maintain a dominant position, such as Cartes Bancaires in France, iDeal in the Netherlands and Bancontact in Belgium.
