In Q1 2023, Reliance Retail Ventures abandoned talks to obtain the exclusive rights to operate Sephora’s business in India. However, in November, the country’s retail giant finally won the deal. It takes over 26 Sephora stores, previously managed by Arvind Fashions Ltd and becomes Sephora’s exclusive agent. Reliance Retail, which launched its own cosmetics brand – called Tira – in April 2023, is thus strengthening a beauty division to better compete with Nykaa, the local cosmetics leader....
