According to JLL, retailers’ demand for locations within Indian malls should increase by 81% in 2018, driven by strong economic fundamentals and the higher purchasing power of young people. In the seven main cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune and Hyderabad, the net leasing retail space should reach 540,000 sq.m GLA in 2018, up from 297,000 sq.m GLA in 2017.
