In China, Alibaba is rolling out its Freshippo “Store X” wholesale concept. After the Shanghai store (opened in October 2020), a second store opened in June 2021 in Beijing and 8 more are announced by December. The store’s range is reduced, with about 3,000 products (imported products, fresh products, live fish and shellfish, prepared meals, cosmetics…) sold at wholesale prices. 

In terms of property, Alibaba targets areas of about 20,000 sqm GLA located in malls of tier 1 and tier 2
