In May 2017, Amazon received the approval to open a 485-sq.m bookstore within Westfield Century City before late 2017. This mall is going though a US$1 billion refurbishment (+27,000 sq.m GLA) and it will house highly expected banners, such as Eataly 1st U.S. West Coast unit, Javier fashion retailer as a premiere in L.A. Amazon’s products will be based on online orders and rates from readers. Amazon did not confirm whether this bookstore would house a café, like in Chicago.
