In a French furniture market down by 5.1% to €13.8 billion in 2024 (IPEA), Maisons du Monde (338 stores at the end of 2024) reported annual sales of €1.002 billion on February 4, down 11.2% in total. The decline was -11.7% in stores and -9.9% online. While the retailer’s sales are going from bad to worse (down by 9.3% in 2023, by 5% in 2022), the C.E.O. François-Melchior de Polignac is optimistic and anticipates a rebound in H2 2025: “2024 was difficult, but our Q4 is better than Q3”....
