The 2nd construction phase of the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA has started in Sepang, near Kuala Lumpur airport. Developers are Mitsui Fudosan from Japan and the public firm Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (in a 70/30 joint venture). This outlet centre, which opened in May 2015, will expand from 24,000 to 51,500 sq.m by January 2018 and from 130 to 190 shops. Mitsui Fudosan will also open an outlet centre in Taiwan in June 2017 (New Taipei).
