On February 5, in a 23-page report, the European Commission referred to the tools available to Member States to better control the compliance of parcels from non-European marketplaces selling via non-European merchants. It is asking the European co-legislators to remove the duty exemption for parcels under €150 (low value). To strengthen customs controls, it also suggests a new tax for e-merchants to cover the associated costs.
