A booming online food delivery sector has caused commercial property rental values to soar in London.
As Getir, Gorillas and Zapp multiply networks of “dark stores”, prices per sq.m for these urban mini-warehouses dedicated to the preparation of web orders have risen sharply. According to Knight Frank, the average annual rent for a 1,900 sq.m location in West London reached £377 per sq.m in Q3 2021, up 75% annually.
