In 2024, the Moroccan retail sector is going through a tumultuous period, marked by the successive closures of international franchises. An example is the departure of two H&M stores belonging to the Alshaya group (15 December 2023). The Moroccan subsidiary International Retail Morocco, part of the Saudi giant Al Hokair (Charles & Keith, New Yorker, Accessories), has not escaped difficulties. According to Femmes du Maroc, 16 stores are about to close.
