In September 2017, Chinese retail sales jumped by 10.3% year over year, accelerating from the 10.1% rise in August. Meanwhile, China’s G.D.P. expanded by 6.8% in the quarter to September 2017 as indicated during Party Congress, where president Xi Jinping set up his vision for the next five years. As a reminder, Chinese G.D.P. increased by 6.7% in 2016.
