On October 21, Amnesty denounced Carrefour‘s practices in a Saudi franchise managed by Majid Al Futtaim (2023 sales €8.6 billion, up 1%). Migrants are employed, underpaid and working 60 hours a week in excess of a legal 48-hour limit. Originating from Nepal, India and Pakistan, most of the 17 workers interviewed by Amnesty were employed by sub-contractors Al-Mutairi and Basmah and work in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
