A recent sales report from the New York government shows that overall sales for independent retailers rose by 6.4% in July, compared to July 2017. Not only brick and mortar stores are experiencing this rise in sales, as non-store retailer such as online players rose by almost 9%, according to the Commerce Department. Retailers that specialise in merchandise like clothing, electronics, furniture and home furnishings also had healthy gains, between 3.5% and 6.4%.
