A year ago, Auchan sold all business operations in mainland China to Alibaba in a €3-billion deal. However, the grocery retailer remained active in Asia with a 64.83% stake in RT Mart in Taiwan (€805 million turnover in 2020).

In mid-2022, Auchan and Ruentex will sell their shares in RT Mart to PX-Mart. As the largest supermarket chain in Taiwan, with 1,100 stores in 2022 and a turnover of €3.7 billion, PX-Mart has become the leader of retail food business in Taiwan.
