Hotel occupancy in Abu Dhabi fell by 10% in October 2016 (to 73%) within a supply surplus. The length of stay dropped by 9% year-on-year to 2.8 nights. As a result, the government introduced “visas-on-arrival” for Chinese tourists and aims to develop the U.A.E. as a hub for cruise ships.
