An unexpected investor emerged in the latest round of funding for Dubai-based delivery start-up iMile.
According to Bloomberg, ByteDance, the parent company of Chinese app TikTok, invested in shares. ByteDance placed US$10 million out of a total of US$40 million. iMile is currently valued at US$350 million. Founded in 2017 by Rita Huang, a former Alibaba and Huawei executive, iMile connects Chinese pure-players to Middle Eastern customers via its last-mile delivery platform.
