On 1st October, travel retail specialist DFS Group announced plans to open an ultra-luxury shopping centre in Sanya on Hainan island by 2026. Named “DFS Yalong Bay”, this 128,000 sq.m project will house 1,000 luxury brands and several entertainment areas. In an announcement, the LVMH subsidiary (chaired by Benjamin Vuchot) claims to offer a “seven-star” luxury retail and entertainment experience. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed.
