British department stores Selfridges are finally being taken over by Thailand’s Central Group and Austria’s Signa, in the form of a 50/50 joint venture. This is the continuation of the project announced in July 2021. The two buyers already own other department stores in Europe : La Rinascente in Italy, Globus in Switzerland, Illum in Denmark and The KaDeWe Group in Germany and Austria.
