According to a study from Reis (77 cities studied), mall vacancy rate reached 8.6% in the quarter to June 2018, up from 8.4% in Q1 2018. Malls are the emptiest they’ve been since 2012, particularly strip malls and neighborhood shopping centers where vacancy reached a 10.2% rate.
