On July 7, 2025, Japanese convenience store chain Lawson (2023 revenue: 7.56 billion dollars, up by 8.8% year-on-year) announced the launch of a trial parking rental service for tourists. Starting July 14, six supermarkets in Chiba Prefecture will rent out parking spaces to motor homes until June 30, 2026. The nightly rate is around 20 euros, which is between twice and four times cheaper than a traditional hotel. Reservations can be made online, with check-in from 6 p.m. and check-out at 9...
