ArcelorMittal: the EWC monitors local bargaining for voluntary leaves

On December 15, Arcelor's management and the secretariat of the EWC stated, in a joint declaration, that they wanted "to strengthen the social dialogue national and local level in relation to ArcelorMittal's SG&A Voluntary Separation programs and other local productivity plans envisaged by the group". On month later, negotiations' progress varies from one country to the other. While they led to agreements in some countries, they haven't even started yet in others. Luis Colunga, coordinator of the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) within the steel group's EWC, despite its commitments to bargain at local level, the management will carry out different policies in different countries.
