Austria: before the general elections of Sunday, parties make plenty of promises on employment

Austrians will vote on Sunday, October 1st, 2006 to elect their National Assembly (Nationalrat). Although employment is the central topic of all programs, the proposals to fight unemployment remain vague. The election campaign has been dominated by personal attacks, racist slogans and the scandal of the labour unions' bank. (Ref. 06957)
