The struggle against muscle and skeleton disorders – one of the four priorities of the agreement between the government and the social partners on actions to improve working environment, 2005-2010 – is renewed following the recommendations of the tripartite committee, composed of representatives of the social partners and of the Labor Inspectorate (Arbejdstilsynet), commissioned, in 2005, to propose initiatives to improve action against MSDs and ensuing absenteeism. After the 2008 agreement aiming to lower the number of sick leaves (see our dispatch No. 080793), the committee changed its priorities to cut MSD-related sick leaves by 10%.
