With a view of protecting employees from passive smoke, the new law, which came into effect on August 15, forbids smoking on workplaces, but allows cigarettes when there is no risk of passive smoking. However, the smoker does not have a positive image within the company. Minutes spent smoking are timed, adverts ask for non-smokers, who also enjoy wage benefits : this type of measures is becoming widespread even though trade unions threaten to act against what they call discrimination.
