EU: an ETUC (European Trade Union Confederation) study on what workers think about the impact of digital transformation

On 18 September during a conference meeting held in Brussels, the ETUC presented a singular snapshot showing how Europe's workers and worker representatives (unions, national and European works councils) perceive the digital transformation phenomenon. "The survey clearly shows that union organizations and workers representatives at company level are fully aware of the challenges arising from digitalization and they are demanding a say in how digital transformation processes are being developed and managed," the ETUC concluded. Significant regional disparities however do currently exist.

This qualitative study was led between June 2017 and June 2018 and gathered 1,500 responses from more than 30 European countries, including from transnational representation bodies (EWCs, SEs) from more than 220 companies.
