In his conclusions rendered on January 31, 2007, the Advocate General Poiares Maduro invited the Court of Justice of the European Communities to rule that a mother suffering from discriminatory measures at work because of her son's handicap is protected by the dispositions of Directive 2000/78 on equal treatment in employment.
