President-elect Ursula von der Leyen has kept to her first commitment of gender parity. Set to head up the European Commission over the upcoming five years Ursula von der Leyen presented her selection for the EU College of Commissioners, comprising an equal number of males and females. With ten years experience as National Employment and Labour Minister, Nicolas Schmit (Luxembourg) is the new Commissioner-designate for the ‘Jobs' portfolio.
