Worried about the consequences of the Court of Justice of the European Communities' jurisprudence (Laval, Ruffert, Viking), the European Parliament adopted, in a resolution adopted on October 22, a clear stand to balance the protection of workers' rights compared to economic freedom, if necessary by revising the directive on the posting of workers as part of a provision of services. On Wednesday, October 22, MEPs adopted, by a large majority (474 votes for, 106 against and 93 abstentions) the report of the Swedish MP Jan Andersson on the posting of workers.
Introduce social considerations into posting. While subtly criticizing the European executive body’s resistance to change on this topic, Jan Andersson said, on the edge of the European assembly held on Wednesday, which was pleased about the firm stand adopted by MEPs.
