EU : “restructuring” forum dedicated to the automobile sector

The automobile sector is the first one to be the subject of a "restructuring" forum, an initiative launched by the European Commission in 2005 to think about questions of anticipation of change and management of restructurings' social consequences. This meeting, characterized by the adoption of a partnership for the anticipation of change (see our article No. 070861), took place on October 17 and 18 in Brussels. It was also the occasion for the Commission to reaffirm that it believed in the future of this industry and of its jobs in Europe, and for manufacturers to ask that regulatory pressure allows keeping up competitiveness.
